Authorized Administrators

The SASSI Online is designed for professionals who use substance abuse screening instruments and assessment products in their work. Those who wish to become SASSI Online Administrators are required to register by completing a Qualification Form. Once submitted, the form will be reviewed promptly, typically within 2 business days. The Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory is a carefully developed assessment instrument that requires proper administration, scoring, and interpretation. Therefore, eligibility to purchase, administer and/or use this measure for clinical purposes is limited to individuals with training and experience in the area of assessment. The SASSI should be used by:

  1. Human service practitioners whose certification and/or training includes assessment (e.g., psychologists, social workers, certified addictions counselors); or
  2. Individuals who have completed authorized SASSI training.
Individuals who do not have professional training can administer and score the instrument if there is appropriate supervision. We recommend that you contact your state government for specific information on the laws regulating assessment and testing in your state.

In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, the SASSI cannot be used for pre-employment screening.

We adhere to the ethical guidelines of the American Psychological Association. Therefore, we require the completion and approval of the Qualification Form on the Registration page in order to complete your first order of SASSI Online test administrations.
