Q. Why does SASSI Online require completion of a Qualification Form?
A. The Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory is a carefully developed assessment instrument that requires proper administration, scoring, and interpretation. Therefore, eligibility to purchase, administer, and/or use this measure for clinical purposes is limited to individuals with training and experience in the area of assessment. (See the Who can become an Authorized Administrator? page for further information.)

Q. How do I forward Tester IDs and my Administrator ID to my test takers?
A. After tests are purchased, the Status Box within your SASSI Folder will indicate a unique Tester ID for each administration purchased. To assign an administration to a given client, simply provide the appropriate identification and a time frame for the SASSI face valid items for that administration. When you are ready to have your client take the test, click the "notify" box to send automatic e-mail notification to the client so he or she can complete the test from a remote site, or click the link next to the Tester ID to administer the SASSI Online test to the client in your own office. Both procedures are designed to automatically fill in Tester and Administrator ID information for the client.

Q. How does someone take a test?
A. In order for an individual to take a test, he or she must either click the active URL link in the automatic notification e-mail you sent them from your SASSI Folder, or log onto www.sassionline.com, click "TestTaker Login," and advance to the "Tester ID" page. If the individual enters the test-taking environment through the URL link in their notification, the required IDs will automatically be entered. If the individual enters through the website, they will be required to supply the Test ID. This will route your test taker directly to the assigned Adult SASSI-3.

A. The test taker's answers are maintained from the point of the last answer that was submitted.

Q. What should test takers do if their testing session is interrupted or terminated before they finish a test?
A. The test taker should log back into the testing environment using the Tester ID and Administrator ID you have provided them. He/she should do this as soon as possible because a Tester ID will expire 24 hours after a test is started.

Q. If my test taker's session is expired, what happens?
A. You will be automatically notified of such an event in your SASSI Folder. You will then have the ability to "reactivate" the Test ID and the test taker can then complete the test.

Q. What happens if a test taker stops entering data?
A. If no mouse clicks are detected within an hour the session is terminated. The Tester ID remains active, allowing for resumption of the session at any time before the 24 hour expiration. Previously submitted responses are maintained.

Q. How quickly are the test results returned to my SASSI Folder?
A. A test is scored and the report generated within moments (usually less than three minutes under most conditions). The report is then posted in the Test Administrator's SASSI Folder. Q. What kind of information is returned to me after a test taker completes a test?
A. The SASSI report includes a graph of the client's scale scores, the outcome of the decision rules based on the client's responses, and a brief interpretation of the client's profile. The test report can be saved to hard drive or disk, sent as an e-mail attachment, or accessed at any time by simply clicking the Tester ID in your SASSI Folder.

Q. How does SASSI Online insure the confidentiality of my registration information?
A. Registration information is used to determine your qualifications to administer the Adult SASSI-3. None of this information will be sold or redistributed, but group data may be compiled and used by the SASSI Institute. SASSI Online may occasionally send e-mail to all Test Administrators with news or announcements. You can stop this by notifying us of your desire.

Q. How does SASSI Online insure the security of the test data?
A. For obvious reasons, we are very concerned about protecting all of the information on SASSI Online because of its sensitive and personal nature. We used advanced secuirty methods that include multiple levels of password access, SSL encryption of personal data, test responses, and assessment reports, off-line scoring servers, and detailed behavior analysis of the testing and security context by experts in psychometrics and internet security. For this reason, we do not store credit card data (which is the reason why credit card numbers must be entered for each transaction, if this is your payment method). Test reports travel through encryption.
